Alfonso Pérez Cuéllar Martínez

Mr. Pérez Cuéllar graduated from the Faculty of Law of the Universidad Iberoamericana in 1999. His thesis, Injunction in the Amparo Trial, received the recognition of excellence. Since 1994 he is partner in Pérez-Cuéllar Abogados. 

He specializes in civil, commercial, and family litigation, as well as Constitutional Law and Amparo Trials, activities that he combines with his teaching practice at the Universidad Iberoamericana and the Supreme Court of Chihuahua and, more recently, at the Universidad Panamericana as professor of General Litigation Theory and co-head of the Ilustre y Nacional Colegio de Abogados de México academic chair.

 

Recently, he served as president of the Consejo General de la Abogacía Mexicana for the period 2020-2021, as well as vice-president of the Unión Iberoamericana de Colegios y Agrupaciones de Abogados based in Madrid. He was president of the Ilustre y Nacional Colegio de Abogados de México between 2014-2016 and 2016-2018, and during 2018, he was vice-president of the Consejo General de la Abogacía Mexicana. 

Mr. Pérez Cuéllar is also a member of several bar associations and organizations and has been invited as a lecturer in countries such as Spain, Panama, the Dominican Republic, the United States, Canada, and Brazil, where he has also participated in congresses and debates regarding the legal profession in the international arena. 

 

In addition to being part of the editorial boards of several magazines and legal publications, he frequently appears in radio and television programs, focusing on topics such as advocacy, human rights, and the regulation of professional law practice.
